First of all, I think it's important to note how flippin hard it is to even access the brake system in a NB. Secondly, I must have learned this lesson a hundred times, and today was when troubleshooting an electrical component, always start with the FUSE BOX. Yep thats right, it was a fuse! Edit: On a side note, the ABS controller is on the same fuse circuit as the rear defroster--go figure.
I just scanned my friends passat because of the same symptoms. Find More Posts by alphaseinor. Search the history of over billion web pages on the Internet. This bulletin is a technical summary of the fault monitoring activity.
The investigation was initiated because the State Water Project aqueduct unavoidably crosses the San Andreas and other active faults; many of the Project's pumping plants and dams are, by necessity, located near active faults among their ancillary fractures; and, although some of these faults were known to be moving, quantitative nneasurements needed for engineering purposes were not available.
This type of investigation is authorized in the California Water Code by Sections, and others. The Department is specifically authorized to take into consideration that a dam or reservoir might be endangered by earth movement and to conduct investigations and surveys concerning the protection and utilization of water resources.
The objective of the fault monitoring program is to develop a more complete understanding of continuing fault movements in California. Results indicate that movement ranges from little in the Carrizo Plains to about one and one-half inches a year a few miles south of HolHster.
This rate, if continued, would produce a horizontal offset of about seven feet in 50 years. Changes in fault movement are shown to vary with time and place, and appear to be associated with the occurrence of earthquakes. This bulletin is the sixth in a series about earthquake and ground movement problenns of direct concern to the Department. William R. Here, opposite sides of the fault are estimated to have moved as much as 20 feet past each other during the Fort Tejon earthquake--the last known displacement in this area.
Although this portion of the fault zone has been relatively quiet during the period of Geodimeter observations, this awesome crack in California' foundation is testimony to its past activity and a persistent warning against complacency. Central San Andreas Fault Line Direction.

The symtoms are engine management light on, cooling fans running with ignition on and the following fault codes stored. If i clear the fault codes only the coolant temp sensor one comes back immediately.Mark madryga
I fitted a new genuine VW coolant temp sensor to the engine and cleared the codes. Watched live data and engine coolant temperature rises nicely and radiator sensor follows after thermostat opens. Car was ok for 4 miles then engine management light reappeared with same fault codes redcorded. I was just wondering if anyone knew any common faults that would cause this before i check coolant temp sensor wiring continuity back to the ecu plug?
Check both for resistance, you may have changed the wrong one. I suspect the glow plug faults are separate, and may have something to do with the glow plug module, this will need testing as well.
Harley Trouble Code P0118
The only other problems you could have are wiring, or interference from other sensors [which i doubt]. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I have checked with the main dealer and i'm informed that the G62 coolant temperature sender is the one in the thermostat housing the one i replaced.
So it looks like i'll need to to a check of the wiring back to the ecu to eliminate that as the cause. I just find it strange that the coolant temperature sensor appears to read correctly in live data even though the coolant temperature sensor fault code will not clear.
I'm concentrating on the coolant sensor fault code at present as the glow plug ones will clear and only reappear after starting the engine. Any further thoughts gratefully received. Disconnect both sensors individually and see if the code changes. AudenA Curse:. That car does not have a cooling fan switch, the fan is controlled by the fan control unit in the large fan and this is instructed by the ECU from the coolant temp sender so check the temp senders reading in measuring blocks. I have had these fans run continuously due to a failed fan ECU or by fuse 8 being blown due to a faulty anti shudder valve. Also I have known stuck ECU relays cause this so pull out relay and see if this stops the fans.
Fuse 8 is just behind relay Ignore the green arrow, that is for the fuse position on later cars. Broken wire between ecu and engine coolant temp sensor. Can anyone tell me how the coolant sensor can read correctly in live data checked with 3 different make scanners including vag com with 1 broken wire as this is what threw me in the first place. Hello all, I am after some help with the following car please.Discussion in ' Diesel ' started by treebirchMay 19, Log in or Sign up. Club GTI. Hi all, I have recently bought a A6 3.
I have removed the drain plugs and tried to shake most of the water out. I need to investigate where the ingress is happening, I suspect the RHS tail light as when I turned up at the dealer to pick the car up it was being changed.
Co-incidentally or not, I started the car this evening and the fuel gauge read 0 and flashed up at me, "Please refuel", this was a bit of a surprise as I filled up to the brim yesterday and I have been getting between kms out of a tank depending on journeys. I googled the code and got nothing of any substance back but there has been some chat about it on a Polish forum.
I can't work out really what the general gist of the chat is. Has anyone suffered this before? Any ideas? Any advice of knowledge greatly appreciated! My fear of a bill from the French Audi dealer is not worth thinking about, they have stopped employing people with brains and now just employ fitters, they plug the car in, come up with a fault code that normally points to a sensor, replace said part and completely ignore the potential root of the issue.
It seems there's a common fault with these fuel senders. However, it normally only starts when the tanks a bit lower, and gradually gets worse. Mine's done it once or twice, but not done anything for a while now. Not sure about the leak I'm afraid. You'd probably have more luck on one of the Audi forums. Thanks sparrow, I think you're right this is a common fault having done some digging.
Best course of action so it seems is software update to kick off, then get the jet wash out and sit in the boot with the trims off, then see where we are at! I will keep you posted.Drupal 8 ajax invoke command example
